Advent 2015 - Week 4 Candle of Love


As we light the fourthAdvent candle, we are reminded that Jesus is the “star of Jacob.”

I see him, but now; behold him, but not near: a star shall come out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel.

(Community) It is thoughtful and compassionate.

(Community) It is understanding and sympathetic.

(Pastor) Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

Lord, we ask that you let love abound more and more in us and increase our knowledge and depth of insight so that we may be able to discern what is best and pure and blameless until the second coming of Christ. Fill us with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.
