We are a faith community open to Loving and to being Loved completely in Christ Jesus. We carry within us a mission for equipping anyone who will come and follow Him. So we Love God, we teach His truth, we care for one another in fellowship, communion, and prayer.  With this hope, together we have found a better way to live and a better way to Love. That is the Reunion journey - to Love beyond Love...the Jesus Manifesto

creed

Every believer in Christ should know something about their faith and then be able to articulate what they believe. As Christians, it is important that we commit ourselves to the Bible and to time tested Spirit-inspired truth. So, because of that Reunion believes what Christians have at all times and all places believed.
"I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord: Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary.  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting." - Apostle's Creed

A Reunion Church understanding of the Great Biblical Truths of the Christian faith

Salvation and Regeneration

We believe this to be… Salvation is our conscious acceptance and confession of Jesus Christ the Son of God, as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9). In Christ we receive the God’s gift of eternal life (1 John 5:10-12). This process begins with repentance for the life we have all lived apart from Christ (1John 1:9). At that moment we are completely forgiven by God through Christ for how we have lived and we are made a new creation in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17)... this is called regeneration. Both salvation and regeneration come to us through Christ as a gift of God’s love and grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). We can not earn the gift of God’s love but we certainly believe that by His grace Christ will forever keep us in His love (John 11:25-26).

Water Baptism

We believe this to be… We believe in water baptism for those who repent of their sins, and confess Jesus Christ as Lord. Baptism is a public witness of our new life in Christ, and is an outward sign of an inward work of God’s grace (Acts 2:38). We fully embrace the New Testament doctrine of “one Lord, one faith, and one baptism” (Ephesians 4:5). Jesus was baptized in obedience to God the Father at the Jordan river by John the Baptist, and so we encourage every believer who has the opportunity to be baptized in water - to do so in the name of our Lord (Matthew 3:.13-17).

Sanctification and Holiness

We believe this to be… Sanctification is the life-long process of spiritual maturity in Christ, in which we learn to think like Jesus and live in the way He desires for us. To be sure it is the metamorphosis of our thoughts, words, and actions as they begin to resemble His character and reflect His presence (1 Thessalonians 4:7). Jesus said, “But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.” But who on their own power can do that? The understanding of the sanctification and holiness process is revealed to us more through “our being” than solely through “our doing” (John 17:14-19). This means simply to focus each day on who we are becoming in Christ; and then is evidenced by a deeper commitment to the simplicity of our intentions and the purity of our affections (1Peter 1:13-16).

Grace and Justification

We believe this to be… In grace we are awakened to the central thing; we walk with God under his eye, confident that he is looking at us and searching our heart, our soul, and all that is within us (Hebrews 2:12-16). Discovering then, that in all he sees of us and all that He knows about us did not stop Him from loving or choosing us... that is grace (Romans 5:6-8). Bottom line is that we have all sinned and in that condition, we are lost and unacceptable to God (Romans 3:23). But, God’s love for us came to us in Jesus Christ His Son. Only in the goodness and kindness of Christ, we are made right and can find the way to God (Titus 3:4-7). So, by faith, we accept Christ’s forgiveness for the entirety of our sin. We believe that our sin’s debt is forever paid for by Christ giving His life on the cross for us. He stands in righteousness before God for us, so that we can without shame, freely come to God… that is justification (Romans 3:24).

The Gifts and Fruit of the Holy Spirit

We believe this to be… Christ promised the disciples that He would send to them a comforter when he left them (Luke 24:29). The fulfillment of that promise came to them on the “Day of Pentecost” in the upper room in Jerusalem. That day the Holy Spirit empowered them to spread the Gospel around the world. Today, we too, are filled with the Holy Spirit as evidenced by the nine “gifts of the Spirit” described in 1 Corinthians 12:1-13, which are given to us (the body of Christ) by God, as He wills (Hebrews 2:4). These gifts are given by God as a power for service and ministry of the gospel and as a sign to unbelievers. When the “gifts of the Spirit” are expressed through us and shared according to God’s will everyone is loved, built up, and encouraged. So the “gifts of the Holy Spirit” help equip believers to do the will of the God… to love Him and to love one another. We also believe that using and expressing “spiritual gifts” can only be validated by sincere evidence of the “fruit of the Spirit” active in the day to day life of the Christian believer (Galatians 5:20). Our understanding is that we serve people with “gifts of the Spirit”, and according to the scripture as our life faithfully displays the “fruit of the Spirit” we become a witness to a watching world of the love of God through the power of the Holy Spirit. And people are led by the Spirit to Christ and into the kingdom of God.

Redemption and the Second Coming of Christ

We believe this to be… The scripture teaches us clearly that no one comes to the Father except through the Son (John 14:6), which is Jesus Christ. In fact, there is no other name under heaven (Christ) whereby a man can be saved. Having understood “access to God” to be only in Christ - then it is only logical to conclude that He alone is our redemption (Colossians 1:13-23). The second coming of Christ is the literal act and culmination of the redemption process. Christ comes for us to present us to the Father as His own. We fully embrace the idea of an actual second coming of Jesus Christ, and His gathering up and transformation of all those alive or dead who have believe in Him, as described in (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). In that same passage of John’s gospel, Christ says, "Don't be troubled. You trust God, now trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father's home, and I am going to prepare a place for you. If this were not so, I would tell you plainly. When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am (NLT).

We believe and accept this promise from Christ our Lord - as our own.
