Therefore, I urge you brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is your daily act of worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
worship
We believe that our worship involves the whole of our life and spiritual sacrifices. Our worship centers around God's presence which cannot be contained in any building or place and is to be done
in spirit and in truth.
Our style of worship is as varied as the different people that gather with us in our community. Each individuals difference in personality and background influences the means in which they worship. Music, clapping, raising of hands or other outward expressions are only means of worship. What truly matters is our hearts and not what we get out of worship, but what we give to God in our worship.
shofar
The Shofar or trumpet is mentioned more than eighty times in the Bible
from Numbers through Revelation.
At one point in history the Israelites began to use horns of animals,
specifically rams, to make their trumpets. The horn of the South African antelope
called the Kudu, has also been used.
The Scriptures tell of different times when the trumpet should
be sounded and when it will be sounded.
1. "To gather the assembly, blow the trumpets" Numbers 10:7
2. "The Lord will remember you and rescue you from your enemy" Numbers 10:9.
3. "Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet" Psalm 150:3
4. "Blow the trumpet, 'sound the alarm' for the day of the Lord" Joel 2:1
We at Reunion blow the trumpets to gather the people together; to ask for protection and deliverance; to praise the Lord; and to remind us that someday, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever." -Revelation 11:15.
