About
our Community
On Sunday May 10th, 1999 the Reunion Church worshipped
together for the first time. Our
founding pastor Steve Isaac, led several hundred who gathered that
day in communion and prayer; believing that our church would indeed
become the Christ-like community that many of us had been looking
for. Years later we
are more certain now than ever that we are becoming that community.
Over time many wonderful people have come and gone and
yet we continue to grow from that core group of worshippers who have
valued above everything else loving God and one another.
Today
the Reunion community is blessed with a growing and exciting worship
environment led by loving and mature leaders which include;
church elders, ministry leaders, and stewardship team. Presently there
are many different opportunities for worship and growth each week
with gatherings on Sunday
mornings, Wednesday mid-week for classes (all ages), small group
ministry, and leadership development, and missions training.
Reunion
now reaches out to minister and serve others besides ourselves
through our recovery ministry, short-term mission projects, and of
course the daily "thinking like Jesus" for the many practical
and spiritual needs of families connected to our
community. Our philosophy and model for growth and ministry has
never
been trendy or pragmatic. As
we said, we value right relationship with God and with one another;
so we are committed to whatever time or effort that is needed for that to happen.
We are a community that has been established through bible teaching,
worship, and mentoring. We have discovered the great value of learning and growing together through
study and dialogue about God's truth for our lives.
Reunion has also been profoundly impacted by the teaching and the
faithful prayer and intercession of our ministry leaders and elders.
Together we have seen our faith increased by the many miraculous healings
that have touched our lives and filled our entire community with
hope. Our worship reflects the impact of those blessings and
the commitment that daily prayer has had in our lives.
Musically
we have a rich history of praise and intimate worship that is complimented by the sounds of
many styles and traditions both past and present.
Our singers and musicians have gone far beyond simply being
motivated by great talent
and performance; they have made God’s presence and the habitation
of the Holy Spirit a spiritual priority. We all have grown in
our understanding of faithful preparation to worship God.
The talent and harmonies that the Lord has sent our way has
indeed been remarkable, and for this we are blessed, and very
grateful to God!
Reunion
has
never been underwritten financially by a denomination or an
outside revenue source; We are funded solely by the tithes and
offerings of our members and friends. The elders have faithfully
taught the biblical principles of giving, and the results have been
helpful as well as fruitful. Living by God’s principles for giving
we faithfully meet our current financial obligations, and pray that
God will bless all those who invest in the Reunion Church ministry
and the kingdom of God.
The
future for the Reunion community is one of purpose and anticipation.
We are continuing to grow, both in weekly attendance and in
spiritual depth. This
year we are implementing specific and strategic efforts that will
stimulate and assure spiritual growth in each vital area of our present
community. The Lord is
bringing many wonderful new families alongside us - to better equip
us; adding to our effectiveness in the ministry and purposes that
God has called us to. We are a steady and faithful group of people
who over time will bless and impact the lives of hundreds of
families. Reunion is
not “myopic” -
meaning that we understand that our community does not exist solely
for ourselves alone; but that we are also here for anyone and
everyone that God will call us to.
There are many people needing the “day to day” ministry
and personal attention that we know we are called to give.
We believe that God is building Reunion to last; that the
very values and truths we have stood by and formed ourselves around
make us serviceable to those inside and outside of God’s kingdom.
We look forward to serving you!
